Posted by tom | Oct 26, 2007We've been wondering when we should stop referring to Eden as Baby Eden. Looks like the beginning of June 2008 will be a good time. We'll call her Eden and pass the Baby title onto the next youngest member of the Grosh family. That's right! A new Groshling is on the way! And to clarify -- just ONE Groshling is on the way (confirmed by ultrasound this morning).
There has been a buzz in the air this week as we broke the news to the kids and started to tell friends and extended family. The girls are very excited, as you can imagine. Ellen is hoping for a boy and Hayley wants a girl. You can never please them both, can you? Eden was present when I told them, but I didn't spell it out to her so I don't think she gets it yet. But I figure it's kind of early to get her worked up about a baby. She is in a stage of baby obsession -- loves everything baby, cares for her dolls all day long, talks about babies.
I have been feeling completely useless due to exhaustion and nausea. The last two days have been much better, however. I'm crediting some new vitamins I started to take 2 days ago. I haven't found particular foods that always appeal to me or never appeal to me. What worked one time, doesn't necessarily work the next time. So that's been tricky. I find myself evaluating whether or not a food will be good to eat based on what I think it will be like when it comes back up. Sorry if that's too much information! It's hard to limit Eden's snacks when I need to eat all the time. Of course when I eat, she wants to eat. So we snack together all day :) The difference is, she enjoys it! Thomas has stepped up and taken over much of the daily running of the household and the girls are pitching in. We made a chore list yesterday for Ellen and Hayley. Even Eden was given one chore (get the napkins out for supper).
Finishing the 2 bedrooms in the basement for Ellen and Hayley has a renewed urgency, but I'm confident we'll be well ahead of deadline. That will leave 2 bedrooms upstairs for Eden and Baby. They'll most likely get their own rooms, but we haven't finalized that decision yet. In an ideal world Eden will be potty trained and walking by her 3rd birthday (in Feb.). By then I shouldn't be lifting her too much, so walking would come in handy. She's a big talker when it comes to the potty, but hasn't made good on her promises :)
We're all very excited, and would appreciate your prayers for a safe and healthy pregnancy and baby. Given my past experiences, I can't help but be somewhat anxious. But I know that God's grace is sufficient and his plans are perfect.

CONGRATULATIONS! How wonderful! Hope you're feeling better soon. How many weeks does this make you?
(You surprised me a little with this news after our conversations in August!)
Just think, my baby will be seven months old when yours is born. Puts things in perspective--I won't be pregnant forever, right? ;o)
