First Black Friday for the guys
Posted by tom | Nov 28, 2008It is done and worthy to blog about. ... when I have the time ;-) Thank-you, couldn't have stood in the 'lines' on my own. -- Tom
I can't believe I did it. -- Carl (Theresa's Dad)
Carl and I took it to the road at 4 am to arrive at a rather long line outside Circuit City in Lancaster, which doubled in size by the store opening at 5 am (and was just as long outside when we left, I guess due to the fire code capacity limit of the store). Thank-you to Lancaster Evangelical Free Church for the free hot chocolate while we waited in cold, but not difficult weather (no snow, rain, wind, etc).
Upon reaching the interior of the store, we stood in another line to redeem our guaranteed until 8 am laptop flyer (received while waiting in line from Firedog) ... and the Circuit City boys hawked all kinds of stuff up and down the line (enabling me not to have to run down the isles to loose my place or have to go through the register line 2x). We were home around 6 am, before the girls were up at my house ... enabling me to hit the new day running, but probably acccompanied by an after lunch nap or an early bedtime ;-)
Thank-you to our partner in ministry who enabled me to do a much needed technology upgrade at such a time as this! Now all I have to do is find a time to transfer files from the old laptop to the new as all four girls spin around the house over Thanksgiving break, which carries on through Monday (for deer, remember that the Native Americans brought deer to the early Thanksgiving celebrations).

I'll do my best to continue the tradition - no, not shopping on Black Friday - bringing the venison to the celebration!
