Followers of Jesus struggle with culture. Sometimes we try to escape the culture and other times we ‘consume’ culture too readily, to use one of Andy’s terms. To partner with InterVarsity’s Graduate & Faculty Ministry and host Andy Crouch offered our church a unique opportunity to delve deeper into questions about culture. It also provided a chance to facilitate great discussions between graduate students, informed laypeople and Christian scholars in the area. Thanks to Tom Grosh for making it possible.

Dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ,
A brief update to share a praise, a prayer request, and fiscal year end newsletter (Click here). As always, much more to be found at http://www.groshlink.net, and http://blog.emergingscholars.org, e.g., Christianity needs to be unfashionable on campus.
Praise:
The family and campus ministry enters the summer months healthy and strong. Update: Eden's adenoidectomy and ear tube replacement went without complications and she was 'mostly herself' after 3 days. To God be the glory!
Prayer Request:
Discernment on summer scheduling, particularly how to provide proper space for rest and family in the context of expanding opportunities with the Emerging Scholars Network's blog
and the Central PA Christian Scholars Network

As with all other areas of life, God provides. Several individual and congregational
donors have faced financial constraints, but others have been able to address the gap (Thank-you!). At present we’re only $3600 behind income projections. By God’s grace we’ve received $73,170 toward our $90,340 operating budget
(fiscal year ends June 30).
Please take a few minutes over the course of the next week or two to prayerfully consider whether you, your local congregation's missions committee, or another group of which you are a member might be able to help out as we approach our fiscal year end.* As always, Tom is available to chat by phone or come and meet with those who have interest in learning more about the campus mission. On May 17, he'll present for Manheim Brethren in Christ's Adult Sunday School time (9 am, 10:30 am). He'll be joined by several students involved with the Central PA Christian Scholars Network.
One more day by the grace of God alone,
Tom & Theresa Grosh
